Who We Are

The City of Palo Alto has launched a new "See-It" Website, intended to bring transparency and accountability to government.

This site, http://www.OurPaloAlto.com, was created to reveal critical details the city is leaving out:

* The Palo Alto City council claims to be transparent, when in fact it's playing a shell game with taxpayer dollars.

* City leaders trumped up new "efficiencies" that exist only on paper, and actually cost residents millions each year.

* City leaders continually raid the General Fund, making financial problems worse.

Who runs this Web site? The City of Palo Alto workers who are members of Service Employees International Union, Local 521.

What is the source behind our pretty graphs (but dismal) data? The City of Palo Alto. Read for yourself: CAFR, City of Palo Alto Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

SEIU Local 521 represents more than 52,000 workers in the public sector services from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Central Valley. Our mission is to improve the lives of all workers through economic justice. For more information, visit www.seiu521.org.
